Pilgrims Antiques Centre Dorking. Mother's Day.

Welcome to Pilgrim's Antiques Centre.
We are a friendly small centre crammed full of all sorts of items of beauty and interest.... things to use, things to collect and admire, jewellery to wear, things to own and things to give.

This week many minds are focused on making sure they have a suitable gift for a beloved mother.
Yes, you could buy a bunch of flowers or chocolates; but pop in and see us and find all manner of lovely little things that mothers of all ages would love.

I enjoyed browsing round the shop looking for things suggested by each letter in the words MOTHERS DAY.
My photos will give a taste of the varied selection on offer. But there is much more and fresh items arrive every day.

for Midwinter, magazines, mugs and much, much

more!

is for ornaments, so many to tempt you.

Lladro, Nao, Goebel, Hummel, Wade, Karl Ens

and much more.

There were opals too - but my picture was not worthy

of them.

is for trays, tins and teapots.

is for Homemaker and hobbies.

Homemaker is the oh so famous 1950s design -

so modern in its day and still very much collected.

Mothers have hobbies of many kinds....

Today I feature her homemaking skills....

Cooking, sewing and knitting.

is for ear-rings, eggcups and elephants.

There are lots of ear rings - mostly for pierced ears these days.

There are simple and elegant ear rings, fun dangly ear rings,

sparkly ear rings. Something for many mothers.

Eggcups are good to use and easy to collect. The costs are low

and the space needed is small.

Elephants are always popular - but there are other animals

collected too. We have many.

is for rubies, roses and red.

is for scent bottles, spoons and sherry glasses.

is for dog roses - my favourite wild flower, diamante,

diamonds and Doulton... Royal Doulton that is.

The ever popular figurines of Doulton ladies can be found

in a number of areas in the shop.

is for alsatians, amber beads, amber glass

and Aynsley china.

I found no amber beads as I browsed, so I picked

out some amber coloured carnival glass.

is for the young ones in mother's world

and the yacht she might dream of.

Well, perhaps mother is not dreaming of this yacht!

Why not take her out to lunch at a Marina and pick a better one for her!

I hope that Mother's day will feel good for mothers. And if your own mother is no longer with you, I hope you will have happy memories and enjoy the blooming of Spring for her sake.
